Book – The Moral Force of Indigenous Politics

All nations of the world are accidents of history. No country was ever built by its own indigenous people: outside influences, benign migration, colonialism, outright invasion — these are among the great forces that shape a country’s history. After reading The Moral Force of Indigenous Politics: Critical Liberalism and the Zapatistas (Contemporary Political Theory) by Courtney Jung, I couldn’t help wondering: if we Sabahans natives were a bit more educated and experienced in politics at the turn of 1960 when the British made up their mind to leave this backwater colony of theirs, what a nation we Sabahans would have built?
