Two nights ago I attended the State Banquet which was held in conjunction with the opening of the Third Term of the 13th Sabah State Legislative Assembly. The guest of honour was the Head of State, TYT Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmadshah Abdullah, and as befitting a state banquet, every gentleman was in a ceremonial mess jacket or black-tie tuxedo, and bedecked with their medals and award regalia, and the ladies, in their best baju kurung berselendang, some with so much jewellry that could sink the Titanic. Also, everything must be done in a stately manner; no one is allowed to get up from the dinner table unless in dire circumstances. (That means, no ciggy break for me.)
I had to beg the waiters to take some pictures for me.
