Ok, we know now (most probably) what species of frog is on the wire on this Blog: according to Kelvin Kueh, Phd. of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, “From the enlarged tips of its digits, body shape, and that the photo was taken with [sic] the anuran on a rope/wire, the anuran looks like a Polypedates (Amphibia: Anura: Rhacophoridae). Check the body for four dark lines and whether the anuran was found in the vicinity of human settlements. The two criteria shall confirm it to be Polypedates leucomystax (Four-lined Tree Frog).”
Thanks to Pushpa M. Palaniappan, Phd., a marine turtle expert also at UMS, for connecting my frog to Kelvin.
