Today I went up the istana to recieve my State Award. I am grateful that after decades of government service the Sabah Government has continually recognised my service. Here are the close ups of the medals:
Well, it’s Sabah’s Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Di Pertuan Negeri’s official birthday again today (first saturday of October every year) and as usual he will give the Sabah Government honour awards…and surprise, surprise, I have made it to the honour rolls again this year. And this year it is the final biggie for me: the PGDK (Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu) which gives the right to use the honorific title, Datuk. The highest order, SPDK (Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu), is probably unreachable but then again, never say never.
And that means that if I am so inclined, I can write my name as so: Datuk Rayner Stuel Galid, PGDK, ASDK, ADK, BSK. And it might be so much fun to put them all at once one of these days, and try to look like some of these gentlemen, ha ha.
