New way to bud a durian seedling

I visited the Agriculture Department’s seedling research center at Kota Belud this month. I learned about a new way to bud durian seedlings: Grow the seed to a 1 foot height, cut 6 inches off the top, split the stem into two (about 3 inches depth) and insert your desired bud (preferably from an old tree) and wrap it with a porous electoplast.

By the way these buds are the famous Musang King variety.
