Finally watched The Fighter. Should have known: Those members of the Academy sure love their boxing movies for an Oscar. Think Stallone in Rocky, De Niro in Raging Bull, Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby, and much earlier, Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront. Still, the reason I finally watched The Fighter was I wanted to see how Christian Bale, who dished out such acting crap in Terminator Salvation and The Dark Knight, could be so good as to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for that movie.
Verdict: That guy was good, damn good in The Fighter. He is worthy of his Oscar. I hope he get another good vehicle for another Oscar, this time in a leading role (and also avoid those Jerry Bruckheimer-type of movies).
